The Harrell Family's Peek (Jacksonville Family Photographer)

Here's a quick peek from tonight's session of 3+1.  I had a wonderful time working with them. This family is so full of love and life. It was a cold day and you wouldn't even know it because of all the warmth these photos.

Another photographer (Pamela Joye, whom I admire for her artistic passion and vision!) mentioned in this next photograph that it is like a glimpse into the future. Yet another photographer (Amy Grace, whom I also admire for her stunning eye and beautiful captures!) said, "I can almost smell the faint hint of my dad's cologne, brushing up against his tie after a long day, meeting me at basketball practice, helping me with homework. so many levels to the image, and very emotional and subtle."
Little moments like these can get lost between the bigger ones. This image really melts my heart. This right here, is exactly why I became a photographer. "Half the joy of life is in little things taken on the run... but let us keep our hearts young and our eyes open that nothing worth our while shall escape us."-Victor Cherbuliez

If that image wasn't heart melting enough for you, this one is sure to make you smile. I love the expression and connection in this one. It's obvious this family has so much joy surrounding their newest addition (and each other).

And finally, no CHP shoot would be complete without silliness. He was a little too preoccupied with the train so we decided to take this distracting approach. (Nailed it.)

Ok, Ok, one more. I have to post these little feet.

Don't forget to show this family some love (or share) by clicking the FB like button below! Don't see it? You may have to log in with your computer. Sweet comments are welcome too (cause you can't spread too much kindness!).

Peace and Love to Sandy Hook (Jacksonville Photographer)

I am honored to have my photos included in this collage by the members of the Bloom Forum.
Like all of us, the members of the Bloom Forum were stricken with indescribable sadness over the events that took place in the Newtown community.
"so many of our forum members felt the need to show the community of Newtown that they were and always are in our hearts and prayers. So we sent the call out to our forum members to snap a photo of their kids, family, clients, anyone flashing a peace sign to radiate our support. They certainly answered the call and the next thing we knew, photos started pouring in every day by the dozens.
We are so proud to say that this incredible collage will be reproduced into a large gallery wrap and sent to the town of Newtown in hopes they know our kinship does not stop here. Their town. Their school. Their children. Their educators. They will never be forgotten amongst us. These photos will be displayed in our homes on walls, mantles and in books and will remind us daily of the 26 who were so abruptly taken on 12/14/12."

If you wish to offer your support to Newtown, you can find out more and donate to the Newtown Memorial Fund safely and securely HERE.

Pillowcase Christmas (Jacksonville Photographer)

This season I was asked if I'd be the Photographer for Bank Of America's Pillowcase Christmas Charity Event! (I'm a little behind on my blogging. ;) )
I was honored to have been asked and of course excepted the offer as a volunteer.
This year was a surprise to everyone since the Mayor of the city, Alvin Brown, came out and declared that day (December 20th)  Pillowcase Christmas day in Jacksonville.
This is a wonderful charity. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, presents are donated to less fortunate children in hopes of making their christmas a little brighter. 193 kids were on the list to receive gifts this year!
We're talking barbie cars and bikes here. It's a big deal! "Santa Bob" puts this all together with the help of some other very humble people. He donates lots of his time and money into his Pillowcase Charity. So much so that the Clara White Mission awarded him that day for giving so much to the Jacksonville community.

With all of the love in the room that day, I believe my heart grew 3 sizes. The world needs more days and caring people like those who made this day possible. There is no such thing as too much happiness.
